Tender lemongrass chicken stir-fried with fresh vegetables, chilli and herbs, served in a crispy Vietnamese baguette
Crusty French-style baguette, stir-fried chicken pieces marinated with lemongrass, chicken pâté, mayonnaise, pickled carrots, cucumber strips, spring onion, fresh coriander, sliced red chilli, house stir-fry sauce.
Bánh mì gà xao sả infuses the iconic crisp baguette sandwich with the highly fragrant, citrusy profile of classic Vietnamese lemongrass chicken. Marinating poultry with minced lemongrass and soy or fish sauce is a time-honoured culinary custom across both home kitchens and bustling street stalls throughout Saigon.
Contains gluten (wheat baguette, soy sauce) and egg (mayonnaise). May contain soy and fish sauce. Prepared in a kitchen that also handles peanuts, shellfish, dairy, and sesame.
Best enjoyed immediately while the baguette is crisp and the chicken is warm. If necessary, wrap tightly and store in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
If refrigerated, separate the fresh salad items and pickles from the baguette and chicken prior to reheating.
To restore the baguette's crustiness and heat the chicken, place the roll in an oven or air fryer at 180 degrees Celsius for 3 to 5 minutes (avoid microwaving as it softens the crust).
Serve warm. Add extra fresh herbs, chilli, or a dash of maggi seasoning sauce to taste.
